Weekly Legislative Update: September 6, 2022

Congressional Schedule: September 5-9, 2022 

Floor Action: 

The Senate is in session this week.

The House is in a committee work period this week with no scheduled votes until September 13.

Mark-Ups:

Employment- On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee will consider two bills, including S. 4524, the Speak Out Act, a bill to limit the judicial enforceability of predispute nondisclosure and nondisparagement contract clauses relating to disputes involving sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Hearings: 

Employment- On Tuesday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee will meet for the deposition of Bruce Allen. The deposition is part of the committee’s work to examine the National Football League (NFL)’s handling of workplace misconduct at the Washington Commanders regarding allegations of discrimination, exploitation, and sexual harassment against female employees.


Bills Introduced: August 29-September 2, 2022 

No bills relevant to women and girls were introduced this week.
