Since its establishment in 1995, WCPI has stood as an organization committed to recognizing and including the voices of those who are underrepresented in public policy dialogues. Our commitment to lifting up those voices is embodied in our values to this day as we work to address racial, social, and economic disparities and injustice.
Like so many across the country, WCPI is mourning the recent deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. Our mission of bringing women policymakers together across party lines is rooted in the belief that far more unites us than divides us. At this time we reflect on the voices, past and present, that empower us to move towards equality and inclusion and stand in solidarity with those efforts.
Recent tragic events serve as a stark reminder that so much work remains. This clearly is a time to join together to create the society we all want to see. This is a time to take action. A time to build bipartisan coalitions that ensure social justice for those without a voice.
