Senate Passes Child Protection Bill

On May 7, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, the Kilah Davenport Child Protection Act (H.R. 3627). The House approved the measure in December 2013 (see The Source, 12/13/13).

The bill would require the attorney general to report on state penalties for child abuse. The legislation would increase penalties for repeat offenders of child abuse or domestic violence.
