Senate Committee Votes to Extend Breast Cancer Stamp

On August 1, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approved en bloc, by voice vote, a bill (S. 597) to extend for two years the provisions requiring the U.S. Postal Service to issue the breast cancer postage stamp. Proceeds from the sale of the stamps are contributed to breast cancer research. The current authorization (P.L. 109-100) is set to expire on December 31, 2007.
