On March 14, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee approved en bloc, by voice vote, the Harriet Tubman National Historical Parks Act (S. 247), as amended.
Sponsored by Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD), the legislation would authorize “such sums as are necessary” to establish, as part of the National Park Service, historical parks in Maryland and New York for the purpose of preserving and interpreting the “historical, cultural, and natural resources associated with Harriet Tubman.”
