On November 16, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a bill (H.R. 1973) that would authorize assistance to provide safe water and sanitation to people in developing countries. The House approved the measure on November 7 (see The Source, 11/14/05). It will now go to the White House to be signed into law by President Bush.
