National Mammography Day Resolution Approved by Senate

On September 24, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, a resolution (S. Res. 326) that would designate October 18 as National Mammography Day. Sponsored by Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE), the resolution calls upon the President to issue a proclamation asking Americans to observe the day with appropriate programs and activities. The resolution notes that, according to the American Cancer Society, 203,500 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and 39,600 women will die from the disease this year.
