NASA Reauthorization Bill Includes Funding for Women’s Health Research

On September 14, the House approved, 399-17, the conference report for a bill (H.R. 1654) to reauthorize the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The bill includes $2 million for research and early detection systems for breast and ovarian cancer and other women’s health issues. Both the House-passed and Senate-passed bills included the same amount. The House on May 19, 1999 approved the bill by a vote of 259-168. The Senate passed the bill on November 5, 1999 by unanimous consent.
