On April 26, the House Education and the Workforce Committee approved, 22-16, H.R. 1180, the Working Families Flexibility Act, sponsored by Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL). The Subcommittee on Workforce Protections held a hearing on the bill on April 5 (see The Source, 4/7/17).
The measure, as amended, would allow private sector employees to choose between receiving paid compensatory time off and overtime pay. Currently, public sector employees are allowed to earn compensatory time in lieu of overtime pay.
