On March 8, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee passed, by voice vote, H.R. 653, the Federal Intern Protection Act, and H.R. 680, the Eliminating Pornography from Agencies Act.
H.R. 653, sponsored by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), would provide unpaid interns in executive agencies protection against discrimination and sexual harassment.
H.R. 680, sponsored by Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), would prohibit federal employees from accessing pornography in the work place. The House approved similar legislation during the 114th Congress (see The Source, 7/8/16).
