On May 7, the House approved, 383-33, the Commission to Study the Potential Creation of a National Women’s History Museum Act (H.R. 863). The House Natural Resources Committee approved the bill on April 9 (see The Source, 4/11/14); the House Administration Committee approved the legislation on April 2 (see The Source, 4/4/14).
The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), would establish a commission to study the creation of the National Women’s History Museum. The commission would report to the president and Congress its recommendations for the establishment and maintenance of the museum in Washington, DC.
