Family Day Resolution Approved

The House on March 21 approved, 392-0, a nonbinding resolution (H. Con. Res. 288) offering support for a nonprofit organization called KidsPeace and its National Family Day. According to the resolution, the annual March observance “will encourage parents, grandparents, and caregivers to recognize the importance of being involved” in the lives of children by emphasizing communication, particularly at mealtimes. The resolution states that Congress “believes that families who communicate and spend time together create stronger families, which give kids peace.”

KidsPeace is a group that operates programs targeting children in crisis, such as those in foster care and mental health treatment.
