Child Protection Bill Clears House

On December 9, the House approved, by voice vote, the Kilah Davenport Child Protection Act (H.R. 3627). The House Judiciary Committee approved the measure on December 4 (see The Source, 12/6/13).

The bill would require the attorney general to report on state penalties for child abuse. The legislation would increase penalties for repeat offenders of child abuse or domestic violence.
