Cecilia Vaughn-Guy is a legislative fellow in the office of Congresswoman Robin L. Kelly (IL-02), working on issues within the health portfolio.
Cecilia graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and from University of Illinois at Chicago with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She currently is pursuing a PhD in education policy, organization and leadership with concentrations in human resource development and diversity & equity from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Cecilia was an impactful member of #Team Kelly during her fellowship. She organized and executed a roundtable discussion for various stakeholders across the continuum of care for the Congressional Black Caucus Health Brain Trust. Cecilia helped draft the “Recognizing Gun Violence as a Public Health Emergency Act,” Rep. Kelly’s gun violence legislation. She also coordinated the introduction of the NIH Clinical Trial Diversity Act, integrating feedback and gathering congressional cosponsors and endorsements. After her fellowship experience, Cecilia will be completing her PhD studies and pursuing another opportunity on the Hill.
