BRIEFINGS ON CAPITOL HILL

Along with our other signature events, WCPI hosts congressional policy briefings on issues, including women’s preventative health; women’s health research; reducing maternal mortality and improving maternal and child health in the United States and globally; women veterans and women in the military; the gender wage gap; asset building and financial literacy for women; and economic security.

These congressional briefings are free and open to the public as space permits.

Women Veterans’ Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Intimate Partner Violence

On November 14, 2024, WCPI hosted a Capitol Hill briefing titled, “Women Veterans’ Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and Intimate Partner Violence.”

WCPI hosted a virtual briefing titled, “Women-Owned Small Businesses: Current Challenges and the Role of Women’s Leadership in the Economy,” the third conversation in our virtual economic briefing series. Click here to learn more and view a recording of the event.

WCPI’s first conversation in a the virtual economic briefing series examined the impact of the pandemic on women in the workforce –how it has affected women in different industries, impacted their ability to care for themselves and their families & how we can create workplace cultures more supportive of women. In 2020, Invent Together and WCPI hosted a congressional briefing to discuss women and patents and increasing diversity in the innovation ecosystem.
