On May 7, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies approved, by voice vote, the FY2015 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies spending bill (as-yet-unnumbered).
According to the committee summary, the bill would provide $52 billion in discretionary funding for programs at the Departments of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This amount is $1.2 billion over FY2014 and $7.8 billion below President Obama’s FY2015 request.
The measure includes $303 million for the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program, based at HUD. This amount is $27 million below FY2014.
