On September 26, the Senate approved, by voice vote, a bill (H.R. 3784) to extend programs authorized by the Higher Education Act of 1965 (P.L. 105-244) through December 31, 2005. The measure was passed by the House last week (see The Source, 9/23/05). It will now go to the White House for President Bush’s signature.
