On July 14, the House Small Business Committee approved, by voice vote, a bill (H.R. 527) to promote vocational and technical entrepreneurship.
Sponsored by Rep. Robert Brady (D-PA), the measure would authorize $7 million annually through FY2008 for a vocational and technical entrepreneurship grant program within the Small Business Administration. Under the bill, small business development centers would receive grants of no less than $200,000 to provide secondary and postsecondary schools with technical assistance for developing curricula that would promote vocational or technical entrepreneurship.
