An economic stimulus package (H.R. 3090) aimed at reviving the faltering economy was stalled as a result of partisan debate within the Senate. After Democrats agreed to remove homeland security spending from the stimulus bill, the House and Senate leadership met on November 29 to further discuss how to proceed on the bill. While no agreement has been reached, the leaders hope to reach one in the coming week.
