Senate Committee Passes Resolution on Child Abuse

On September 27, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, S. Con. Res. 45, a resolution commending the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation for its work in aiding children and families affected by child abuse, and designating November 2007 as National Courage Month. The resolution is sponsored by Sen. Benjamin Cardin (D-MD).

The award was established in 1978 in honor of Ed Block, the head athletic trainer of the Baltimore Colts. Houses run by the foundation provide care for abused children and their families in 17 locations nationwide.
