The House and Senate are in session this week.
Employment- On Tuesday, the House is scheduled to consider S. 4524, the Speak Out Act, a bill to limit the judicial enforceability of predispute nondisclosure and nondisparagement contract clauses relating to disputes involving sexual assault and sexual harassment.
Women’s History- On Monday, the House is scheduled to consider S. 3884, a bill to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service in Baraga, Michigan, as the “Cora Reynolds Anderson Post Office.”
Hearings:
Banking- On Wednesday, the House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing, “Oversight of Prudential Regulators: Ensuring the Safety, Soundness, Diversity, and Accountability of Depository Institutions.” The hearing will discuss legislation, including H.R. 8833, the “Making Communities Stronger through the Community Reinvestment Act,” a bill containing provisions relating to whether a financial institution’s community service or charity work supports women’s depository institutions; and the “Diversity in Financial Regulatory Reform Act” (as-yet-unnumbered), a bill that requires federal financial agencies to consider diversity, including gender diversity, when appointing members of advisory committees.
Military- On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on National Security will hold a hearing, “JROTC: Protecting Cadets from Sexual Abuse and Instructor Misconduct.”
