SPEAKERS

Elyse Shaw, Study Director, Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR), will speak on research documenting the experiences of women and women of color in the innovation ecosystem.

Valencia Martin-Wallace, Deputy Commissioner for Patents, United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will discuss USPTO’s work to increase diversity in the innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Lola Awoniyi-Oteri, Principal Engineer, Qualcomm, will speak on her first-hand experience navigating the invention space as an inventor and patent holder herself.

Holly Fechner, Executive Director, Invent Together; Partner, Covington & Burling LLP, will moderate the discussion.

Invent Together is a coalition of organizations, universities, companies, and other stakeholders dedicated to understanding the diversity gaps in invention and patenting and supporting public policy and private initiatives to close them.
