Congressional Schedule: September 7 – 11, 2020

The House and Senate are in session this week.
 
Mark-Ups:
 
Employment- On Wednesday, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will mark up several bills, including H.R. 5564, the Enhancing Broadcaster DIVERSITY Data Act.
 
Health– The Energy and Commerce Committee also will mark up H.R. 4078, the EARLY Act Reauthorization Act.
 
Hearings:
 
Civil Rights- On Thursday, the House Education and Labor Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Human Services will hold a virtual hearing, “On the Basis of Sex: Examining the Administration’s Attacks on Gender-Based Protections.”
 
Employment- On Tuesday, the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion will hold a virtual hearing, “Holding Financial Regulators Accountable for Diversity and Inclusion: Perspectives from the Offices of Minority and Women Inclusion.”
 
Veterans- On Thursday, the House Veterans Affairs Committee will reauthorize the Women Veterans Task Force and hold a hearing on several bills, including H.R. 3788, the VA Child Care Protection Act.

H. Res. 1096—Rep. Alma Adams (D-NC)/Energy and Commerce (9/1/20)—A resolution expressing support for the designation of the week of August 25 through August 31, 2020, as “Black Breastfeeding Week,” to bring national attention to the United States maternal child health crisis in the Black community and the important role that breastfeeding plays in improving maternal and infant health outcomes.
