Appropriations— On August 1, the Senate passed, 92-6, H.R. 6147, a “minibus” bill containing the FY2019 Financial Services and General Government; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Related Agencies; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and Related Agencies spending bills.
The House passed its version of the measure, which did not include the Agriculture, Rural Development, FDA, and Related Agencies; and Transportation, HUD, and Related Agencies spending bills, on July 19 (see The Source, 7/20/18).
Military— On August 1, the Senate approved, 87-10, the conference report for H.R. 5515, the FY2019 National Defense Authorization Act, clearing the bill for the president’s signature. The House approved the conference report on July 26 (see The Source, 7/27/18).
