On June 23, the House passed, 377-34, H.R. 2842, the Accelerating Individuals into the Workforce Act, sponsored by Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL). The Ways and Means Committee approved the legislation on June 15.
The legislation would establish an employment demonstration project, administered by the Department of Health and Human Services, for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients. The projects would “implement and evaluate strategies that provide wage subsidies to enable low-income individuals to enter into and retain employment.”
