On June 8, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved, by voice vote, S. 782, the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to (PROTECT) Our Children Act, sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).
The bill would reauthorize through FY2022 the National Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force program. The PROTECT Act (P.L. 110-401) established the program to help “state and local law enforcement agencies develop an effective response to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and Internet crimes against children.”
