On May 8, the Senate approved, by unanimous consent, S. Res. 159, a resolution recognizing and supporting the goals and ideals of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Sponsored by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), the resolution emphasizes the need to improve support and treatment of victims of sexual assault. The resolution also notes that one in five women will experience an attempted or completed rape at some point in their lives.
