On April 27, the House Judiciary Committee passed, by voice vote, H.R. 510, the Rapid DNA Act of 2017, sponsored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI).
Among other provisions, the bill would integrate the use of rapid DNA instruments in order to reduce the DNA testing backlog.
During the 114th Congress, the Judiciary Committee passed an earlier version of the bill on July 7 (see The Source, 7/8/16).
