On June 23, the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee held a hearing on several bills, including H.R. 5407, the Homeless Veterans with Children Reintegration Act.
The legislation, sponsored by Ranking Member Corinne Brown (D-FL), would direct the secretary of the Department of Labor to prioritize the provision of services to homeless veterans with dependent children in carrying out homeless veterans’ reintegration programs. During her remarks, Rep. Brown noted that female veterans with dependent children are the largest growing segment of the homeless population.
