On May 26, the House Foreign Affairs Committee approved, by voice vote, S. 1635, the Department of State Operations Authorization and Embassy Security Act, as amended. The Senate approved the legislation on April 28 (see The Source, 4/29/16).
Among other provisions, the bill would address gender-based violence in low- and middle-income countries and hold the United Nations accountable for sexual exploitation and abuse committed by peacekeepers.
