Amy Plaster became a Senior Advisor with HillStaffer, LLC after retiring from CMS Energy as executive director of federal governmental affairs in 2023. Ms. Plaster previously served in the offices of several Michigan members of Congress, most recently as chief of staff to Michigan U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra. She also worked as the director of federal policy for the Eastman Kodak Co. and in government affairs for the Food Marketing Institute.
A native of Muskegon, Mich., Plaster earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and philosophy from Hope College, in Holland, Mich. She also earned a law degree from the Washington College of Law at The American University, in Washington, D.C., and was admitted to the Maryland bar. She has served twice on the board of directors of the Women’s Congressional Policy Institute, including as chair for the term beginning in 2012 and again starting in 2016. Plaster also currently serves as Chair of the board for the Congressional Management Foundation and previously served as chair of the board of directors for the Little Scholars Child Development Center operated by the Library of Congress Child Care Association.
