On June 18, the House approved its version of the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability, and Transparency Act (H.R. 3230), as amended. The bill was passed by the Senate on June 11 (see The Source, 6/13/14).
Among other provisions, the Senate amendment would expand the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) sexual assault counseling services to active duty service members, reservists, and members of the National Guard; the House amendment would not expand such services.
A House-Senate conference committee is likely to meet next week to resolve differences in the two versions of the bill.
